Angelina Jolie Filed Anonymous Lawsuit Demanding to Know Why FBI Didn’t Arrest Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie has seemingly been identified as the “Jane Doe” who sued the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act, questioning why an investigation into her then-husband Brad Pitt was closed after allegations of physical and verbal assault in 2016.

According to Puck News’ Eriq Gardner, Jolie is indeed the unnamed plaintiff in the suit, which had long been speculated about, given the timeline and the events described. The suit demanded that the bureau turn over documents related to an investigation into Pitt, after Jolie alleged that he had “physically and verbally assaulted” her and their children while traveling on a private plane “several years ago.”  It was also reported that, in a recent update to the filing, a statement of probable cause was drafted and given to the chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, before the FBI announced that Pitt would not be charged with assault.

Among the previously detailed allegations reported in the statement by the agent was the accusation that Pitt was drinking and had taken Jolie to the back of the plane, grabbed her shoulders and shook her while yelling, “You’re f—ing up this family.”

“Later, during this same flight, another physical altercation allegedly took place, and Jolie said she sustained injuries; she gave the agent a photo of her elbow in an attempt to corroborate this,” according to Puck. “At another point, Jolie says Pitt poured beer on her.” Pitt has denied the allegations of physical abuse in the years since, and no charges were ever filed. He and Jolie divorced shortly after the alleged incident on the plane.

Representatives for Jolie and the FBI did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Brad Pitt also Claims Angelina Jolie Tried to ‘Harm’ His Wine Company by Selling Out to a Disreputable ‘Stranger’

Brad Pitt says ex-wife Angelina Jolie deliberately damaged their wine company by selling her half to a “stranger” with a bad reputation – something the couple had explicitly and mutually agreed not to ever do, according to a new court filing.

Pitt’s team claimed in the Friday filing with the Superior Court of California that Jolie’s divestment strategy was designed “to inflict harm on Pitt. Jolie knew and intended that [businessman Yuri] Shefler and his affiliates would try to control the business Pitt had built and undermine Pitt’s investment in Miraval.” Pitt says the things Shefler has done since taking over Jolie’s portion of the business are going exactly according to her plan, “and just as Jolie envisioned that is exactly what Shefler has done,” said Pitt’s attorneys.

.”Shefler has launched a hostile takeover of the wine business, destabilizing Miraval’s operations and seeking access to Miraval’s confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of his competing enterprise,” the court filing states.

Pitt is suing his ex-wife after the couple’s divorce and Jolie’s sale of her portion of Château Miraval, located in the Southern French village of Correns, sparked the civil lawsuit. Pitt is suing for breach of contract; dealing in bad faith; and interference with contractual and business relations, among other things.

Pitt is seeking a trial by jury. As well as seeking damages “in an amount to be proven at trial,” and the purported sale made by Jolie, which he wants to be declared “null and void.”...

Government to take greater control of Liverpool city council

Intervention expanded to include financial decisions and governance after report calls for urgent reform.  The government’s intervention in the running of Liverpool city council is to be expanded to include governance and financial decision-making. It comes after the publication of another critical report on the local authority by four commissioners appointed last year to work with the council staff in key areas after an inspection. The report, published on Friday and addressed to the communities secretary, Greg Clark, said certain services were “failing” and in need of “urgent reform”. It warns that poor performance in procurement, finance and auditing are limiting the “council’s ability to operate at a crucial time” and called for an added role of “finance commissioner”.  It comes after a report in June revealed that Liverpool city council’s failure to renew contracts across a number of services could cost it millions. Clark, in a letter to the commissioners, rai...

German chancellor speaks with Israeli PM Lapid following Abbas Holocaust remark in Berlin

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Thursday, addressing remarks about the Holocaust made by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas during a recent visit to Berlin. Scholz had tweeted on Wednesday that Abbas's claim that Israel has committed "50 Holocausts" against Palestinians was "intolerable and unacceptable." He then wanted to address it directly with Lapid, who is the son of Holocaust survivors. "At the start of their conversation, the German Chancellor emphasized that he rejects and condemns Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s remarks, and that it was important for him to clarify this personally to the Prime Minister, as well as publicly," Lapid's office said in a press release about their conversation.  "I thanked him for this condemnation as Israel’s Prime Minister and the son of a Holocaust survivor," Lapid said in a tweet acknowledging the conversation. The two...

Environmental activists take action at Cobham services in Surrey, Clacket Lane in Kent and Thurrock in Essex Environmental protesters have blocked three service stations on the M25 in a second day of action this week attempting to put pressure on the government to end new oil and gas projects. According to the Just Stop Oil campaign, 32 of its supporters took action from 5am at Cobham services in Surrey, Clacket Lane services in Kent and Thurrock services in Essex. They blocked access to petrol pumps by sitting in the road with banners, while some sabotaged petrol pumps by breaking the display glass, covering them with spray paint or locking on to them. Surrey police said their officers made 20 arrests after attending Cobham and Clacket Lane services. Cobham has reopened, with limited access to petrol, but Clacket Lane remained closed in both directions owing to damage to pumps. Just Stop Oil said the protest was intended to “put further pressure on petrol and diesel suppli...
